Why am I getting an “illegal file” error when uploading?
It seems like the error message “illegal file” may occur when a file doesn’t meet certain requirements for upload on Vshorts. Here are some common causes and solutions:
- File Format: Ensure that your file is in the supported format, which is MP4. Any other formats will result in an error.
- File Type: Make sure you are uploading a video file and not an audio file. Vshorts doesn’t support audio-only files.
- Converted Files: If you’ve converted an audio file into a video, make sure a video track has been added to it. Sometimes, audio files converted to MP4 without a proper video track can trigger this error.
- File Size & Length: The uploaded video must be within the size limit of 20 GB and a maximum length of 10 hours.
Troubleshooting Steps:
- Double-check the file's format and ensure it's in MP4.
- Verify that the video contains both audio and a video track.
- If the file is too large or too long, try compressing or trimming it.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, please reach out through our ticketing system for further assistance.
